What makes a Trauma Informed Classroom?
Children and young people learn best when they feel emotionally safe, valued, and understood. For pupils who have experienced adversity, trauma, or instability, the classroom can be both a place of opportunity and a place where their nervous systems are constantly trying to protect them.
This two-hour interactive workshop is designed to empower staff across Lancashire to build trauma-informed classrooms where belonging is deliberately created, behaviour is understood through a relational lens, and all children experience unconditional positive regard.
Built around your core message — “every child is one caring and trusted adult away from being a success” — the session will blend lived experience, practical strategies, case studies, and reflective discussions. The workshop will leave staff confident, knowledgeable, and
equipped to support even the most vulnerable learners.
